Also, while my connection to weebly is actually working, I'll share that I've decided to dub this month Frugal February. I started using a budget back in September, and have been able to keep to it - but the first two days of this month I felt like I had already spent so much money, I needed to cut back. I was taught since I was a young thing barely able to toddle that saving money was a good thing. I'm not sure what exactly I'm saving FOR, but might as well strike while the iron is hot. I've found it's a struggle, though, and I need to take it day by day, challenging myself to not spend anything. Sundays I usually buy a Tuscan Bean Salad for lunch, but instead brought some Gumbo I'd made Saturday night. Monday and Tuesday I had some incredibly strong cravings to stop at Starbucks or Argo Tea for a hot beverage - the days were bleak and overcast with snow on the air, a hot drink seemed like just the ticket. But I refrained. I have plenty of Chai and various teas I could make at home instead of spending $4-$5 on something specially made. I also noticed I was stopping at Trader Joes several times a week. I have plenty of food to last for a bit - time to cut back the calming trips to those laden aisles of wonder and eat what I gots. :P Since this is a shorter month, I'm hopeful that I can go several days each week without spending any money and have a bit more in my bank account for some unknown future event (hopefully not something devastatingly catastrophic, but who knows what the world has in store).
I do have quite an uncanny ability to justify my spending. Below is a picture of some of the new shot glasses I got from TJ Maxx February 1st - honestly a steal. I've been wanting some awesome new shot glasses (seeing as how we only had two) - these were pretty, funky, and only $6 for a set of 6. My rm added some Blue Raspberry Jolly Ranchers to a glass of Pinnacle Whipped. Here we added some 7-Up, as boy, the Vodka concoction packs a punch! But this shot is super smooth and totally delicious :)
